Best VPS for a Palworld Server: How Much RAM, Which Plan and What It Costs

Official dedicated server requirements, which Hostinger VPS plan fits each group size, current prices, VPS versus per-slot hosting and the three settings that prevent out-of-memory crashes.

Best VPS for a Palworld server: 8, 16 or 32 GB of RAM by group size

A Palworld dedicated server is only worth it if it stays up around the clock, without depending on someone’s PC. That is what a VPS is for: a virtual machine in the cloud, with a fixed IP, running the server 24 hours a day for a monthly fee. This guide answers the three questions everyone asks before buying: how much RAM and CPU the server needs, which plan fits your group and what it costs per month.

We use and recommend Hostinger for PalBoard itself. The Hostinger links in this post are referral links: if you subscribe through them, the site earns a commission at no extra cost to you. That is how PalBoard stays free.

What the Palworld server requires

Pocketpair’s official documentation is clear about the dedicated server hardware:

Resource Official recommendation
CPU 4 cores or more
Memory 16 GB; above 32 GB for large servers
Storage Fast SSD; slow disks can corrupt the save
Network UDP port 8211 open
OS 64-bit Windows or 64-bit Linux (Ubuntu, AlmaLinux, etc.)

The same page warns that 8 GB will boot the server but raises the chance of crashes from running out of memory. In practice, two details matter more than the table suggests:

  • Memory usage grows with uptime and base size. A server that starts at 6 GB reaches 12 GB after a few days without a restart. That is why RAM headroom matters more than the player count.
  • Palworld uses few cores, but uses them hard. Per-core speed makes the difference, not the core count. Between 2 fast cores and 4 slow ones, the fast ones win.

Which plan for your group

Hostinger’s VPS plans are KVM 1, 2, 4 and 8. The number is the virtual cores, and memory doubles at each step: 4, 8, 16 and 32 GB. Matched against the requirements:

Plan vCPU / RAM Who it is for
KVM 1 1 / 4 GB Does not run Palworld. Below the minimum Pocketpair accepts
KVM 2 2 / 8 GB 2 to 4 friends, one or two bases, with a daily restart. Works, but with no headroom
KVM 4 4 / 16 GB The right pick for most groups: 4 to 16 players, several bases, always-on server
KVM 8 8 / 32 GB Communities of 16 to 32 players, many bases, or running more than one server on the same machine

If you are torn between two plans, take the bigger one. Upgrading later is easy on Hostinger, but a server that crashes from low memory in the middle of a raid makes the group quit.

What it costs per month

Prices from Hostinger’s Brazilian VPS page in November 2026, with the 24-month plan discount applied:

Plan vCPU / RAM / NVMe Promo Renewal
KVM 1 1 / 4 GB / 50 GB R$ 29.99/mo R$ 59.99/mo
KVM 2 2 / 8 GB / 100 GB R$ 42.99/mo R$ 77.99/mo
KVM 4 4 / 16 GB / 200 GB R$ 59.99/mo R$ 149.99/mo
KVM 8 8 / 32 GB / 400 GB R$ 119.99/mo R$ 259.99/mo

The promo price is paid upfront for the whole term. Shorter terms cost more per month, and renewal returns to full price. For a group of 8 friends splitting a KVM 4, that is under R$ 8 per person per month. Prices change often, so check the current price on Hostinger’s page.

Why we recommend Hostinger

We tried other options before settling. What tipped the balance:

  • Data center in São Paulo. For players in Brazil, latency to the server stays low. With providers that only have machines in the United States or Europe, ping goes past 150 ms and combat feels off.
  • Palworld in the game panel. The VPS ships with a panel (CubeCoders AMP) where you create a Palworld instance from a menu, with no manual SteamCMD install. If you prefer the command line, you still get full root access.
  • Price per GB of RAM. Since memory is Palworld’s bottleneck, what matters is the cost of each GB. The KVM 4, with 16 GB, comes in below many competitors’ 8 GB plans.
  • 30-day guarantee. If it does not work as expected, you can ask for your money back.

VPS or game-specific hosting?

Some services sell a ready-made “Palworld server” billed per player slot. The honest comparison:

VPS Per-slot game hosting
Price Fixed per machine; cheaper from 8 players up Grows with the number of slots
Configuration You edit PalWorldSettings.ini and have full access Panel limited to the options the provider exposes
Other uses Mods, Discord bots, another game Only the game you bought
Learning curve A few minutes of terminal or the game panel Almost none

For a group of friends staying months in the same world, the VPS pays off. For a one-week test with two friends, per-slot hosting may be simpler.

After buying: three settings that save headaches

  1. Scheduled daily restart. A cron job that saves and restarts the server overnight gives back the memory Palworld accumulates. With the REST API enabled, POST /v1/api/save followed by POST /v1/api/shutdown does it with a warning to players.
  2. Building limit. MaxBuildingLimitNum in PalWorldSettings.ini stops one giant base from dragging everyone’s performance down. A moderate PalSpawnNumRate helps in the same direction.
  3. Off-machine backup. bIsUseBackupSaveData=True plus a weekly copy of the Pal/Saved/SaveGames folder off the VPS.

The install walkthrough, the ports and every option of the settings file are in our Palworld 1.0 dedicated server guide.

Watch the server without logging into it

With the REST API enabled on the VPS, PalBoard shows who is online, each player’s position on the map and the uptime, and sends announcements to everyone, straight from the browser with nothing installed on the server. It also alerts your Discord when the server goes down or comes back. It is free: register your server on PalBoard.

Frequently asked questions

How much RAM does a Palworld server need?

Pocketpair recommends 16 GB, and above 32 GB for large servers. With 8 GB the server boots, but crashes from low memory after some time running.

Does a 4 GB VPS run Palworld?

No. The server passes 4 GB right after loading the world. The practical minimum is 8 GB, and 16 GB is the comfortable choice.

How many players fit in 16 GB?

4 to 16 players with headroom, as long as there is a daily restart and a building limit. The official server cap is 32 players, and getting close to that calls for 32 GB.

How much does a Palworld server cost on Hostinger?

In November 2026, the KVM 4 (16 GB) costs R$ 59.99 per month on the 24-month promo plan, renewing at R$ 149.99. Split among 8 friends, that is under R$ 8 per person.

Do I need to know Linux?

No. Hostinger’s game panel creates the Palworld server from a menu. The terminal is only needed if you want mods or your own automations.

Does the server have to be in Brazil?

It has to be close to the players. For a Brazilian group, São Paulo is the best option. For a mixed group, pick the data center closest to most of them.
