Palworld 1.0 introduces new regions, 72 new Pals, the World Tree, new progression systems, and major changes to exploration, combat, and building.

After more than two years in Early Access, Palworld officially reached version 1.0 on July 10, 2026.

And this is much more than a version number change. Pocketpair used the full release to expand Palpagos with new regions, dozens of new Pals, new progression systems, and major changes to exploration, combat, base building, and multiplayer.

Some of the biggest additions include Sunreach, the long-awaited World Tree, 72 new Pals, new ways to strengthen and breed Pals, and a major rework of the main story.

If you played Palworld during Early Access and are thinking about returning, here are some of the most important changes introduced in version 1.0.

Palworld has officially left Early Access

Palworld originally launched in Early Access in January 2024 and received several major expansions and updates over the following years.

On July 10, 2026, Pocketpair officially released version 1.0, bringing the Early Access period to an end and beginning a new phase for the game.

The update is massive. Instead of simply adding another region or a few Pals, version 1.0 changes multiple parts of the experience, including progression, exploration, storytelling, combat, base building, and multiplayer.

Sunreach takes exploration to the skies

One of the biggest additions is Sunreach, a new group of islands floating above Palpagos through the power of Paldium.

The region offers an environment unlike the existing areas of the world and features its own civilization, new Pals, tower bosses, and resources.

One of those resources is Soralite, a new ore found exclusively in Sunreach and used for high-level equipment and construction.

New towers, challenges, and other points of interest have also been introduced throughout the area, making Sunreach one of the main destinations for players progressing through Palworld’s new endgame content.

The World Tree is finally part of the adventure

Ever since Palworld’s original launch, the enormous tree visible on the horizon has been one of the game’s biggest mysteries.

In version 1.0, the World Tree finally takes center stage.

The area is directly connected to the mysteries surrounding Palpagos and the conflict between the factions fighting over the towers across the islands. It also represents one of the greatest challenges in Palworld’s progression.

Alongside new enemies and Pals, the World Tree contains its own exclusive resources. One of them is Paloxite, an ore that can only be found in this region.

The World Tree is also tied to one of the new ways to strengthen your Pals: Awakening.

Palpagos is bigger — and different

Sunreach and the World Tree are not the only changes to the map.

Pocketpair added seven smaller islands featuring three different biome types: volcanic, desert, and ruins.

New settlements can also be found in areas including Bamboo Groves, the Snowy Mountains, Sakurajima, and Sunreach. These settlements introduce new NPCs and side missions.

Wildlife Sanctuaries have been completely reworked as well, with unique environments, exclusive Pals, rare materials, and powerful enemies.

Another addition is the Watchtower system. Reaching a Watchtower reveals the surrounding portion of the map and unlocks it as a fast travel point.

The locations and levels of wild Pals across the world have also been rebalanced to make encounters feel more appropriate for each region.

72 new Pals have joined Palworld

Players looking to complete their Paldeck have plenty of new creatures to find.

Version 1.0 introduces 72 new Pals, including:

  • 47 completely new Pals;
  • 25 new variants.

According to Pocketpair, this brings the total number of Pals to 287 in version 1.0.

The new creatures can be found across Sunreach, the World Tree, and several other regions.

More than 200 Partner Skills have also been changed or replaced, while both new and existing Pals have received additional abilities and animations.

You can also browse Pals, check their stats, and find additional information directly through PalBoard.

Awakening offers a new way to strengthen Pals

Version 1.0 introduces the new Awakening system.

While exploring the World Tree, players can obtain Radiant Gems and use them to awaken the hidden potential of their Pals.

The system adds another layer of progression for players looking to build powerful teams capable of taking on the most difficult challenges in the game.

Mutation changes Pal breeding

Another particularly interesting addition for players who spend time breeding Pals is the new Mutation system.

Breeding now has a small chance to produce a mutated Pal.

Pals born from mutated eggs can have higher stats and a unique passive skill.

Pocketpair also introduced new types of cake with breeding-related effects. Depending on the cake used, players can improve the chance of better stats, produce two eggs, increase mutation chances, or improve the inheritance of multiple passive skills.

This makes building the ideal Pal even more complex — and creates new possibilities for planning breeding chains.

PalBoard can help you search for breeding combinations, discover possible parents, and find breeding paths toward the Pal you want.

The level cap has increased

The maximum player level has been raised from 65 to 80.

The additional levels come with new technologies related to the ancient civilization, along with new items and equipment to support higher-level progression.

For players who had already reached the previous cap, version 1.0 provides another progression path before taking on the game’s most difficult content.

New weapons and equipment

Version 1.0 also significantly expands the available arsenal.

13 new weapons were added, including:

  • Mechanical Bow;
  • Combat SMG;
  • Prototype Shotgun;
  • Heavy Assault Rifle;
  • Tactical Grenade Launcher;
  • Laser Sword;
  • Drone Launcher;
  • Plasma Rifle;
  • Beam Launcher.

Another major addition is the Wing Pack, which uses Wing Cells and allows players to fly without relying on a Pal mount.

Players can also craft an Extra Weapon Holster to increase the number of equipped weapons to six.

New armor, two higher-tier Pal Spheres, and 44 new accessories have also been introduced.

Base building has become even more flexible

Players who enjoy building and automating bases have plenty of new options as well.

Version 1.0 introduces new construction pieces, furniture, and structures inspired by the ancient civilization.

One of the most notable additions is the Aquatic Construction Kit, which allows players to build bases along coastlines and out at sea.

Several improvements have also been made to the behavior of Pals working at bases, particularly when transporting items, handling storage, and returning to unfinished tasks.

Other improvements include:

  • the ability to name storage chests;
  • automatic deposit of matching items;
  • new utility buildings;
  • new monitoring structures;
  • additional work-speed settings;
  • better access to items stored around the base.

Base raids now happen in waves

The raid system has also received a major overhaul.

Enemy raids now take place through successive waves. Players who defeat every wave receive rewards.

The enemies attacking a base can also change depending on the region where the base was built.

This gives defensive structures and the selection of Work Pals a more important role in protecting a settlement.

Important changes for servers and multiplayer

Version 1.0 also brings several improvements for players using dedicated servers.

One of the biggest additions is in-game voice chat, which can be enabled through dedicated server world settings.

Guilds now support additional roles and permissions, along with login and logout notifications for members.

Pocketpair has also improved the multiplayer joining process, password handling, and the saving system to reduce the risk of corrupted save data.

Other changes include optional Discord integration on supported platforms, improvements to the server list, and a server-address hiding mode designed for streamers.

These changes make version 1.0 particularly important for server administrators.

PalBoard lets you monitor Palworld servers, check online players, levels, ping, and other server information, while also displaying player locations on a real-time map.

The story and missions have been reworked

Pocketpair has also significantly reorganized Palworld’s main narrative.

Exploring Palpagos, defeating Tower Bosses, and progressing toward the World Tree are now more closely connected.

New side missions, NPCs, and Journals have been added throughout the world, allowing players to learn more about Palpagos while exploring.

The result is a clearer progression path that places the World Tree at the center of a journey that began during Early Access.

Is Palworld 1.0 worth returning to?

For players who left Palworld during Early Access, version 1.0 is far more than a typical content update.

New regions, dozens of Pals, breeding changes, additional equipment, story improvements, combat changes, new building options, and multiplayer enhancements affect almost every part of the game.

And this is only a summary of the major changes. The official version 1.0 changelog is extensive, with many additional balance, interface, graphics, and quality-of-life improvements.
